Awards
The Australian Cinematographers Society Awards for Cinematography are open to all current financial members of the Society.
The State Awards are held in October/November each year with Gold winners progressing through to the National Awards for Cinematography, and announcement of Australian Cinematographer of the year which is announced at a gala function in May.
Direct entry is not available into the National Awards, and all entries must first go through the relevant state judging.
Judging is done by a panel of accredited members in each state.

The ACS also has a number of special awards that are made at relevant National or State awards Functions…
Special National Awards include the Ross Wood Memorial Award, and induction into the ACS Hall of Fame

- The Australian Cinematographers Society Hall of Fame is the highest honour that can be bestowed on a cinematographer.
- The Ross Wood Snr Memorial Award
- A trust fund, setup in the name of Ross Wood Snr, primarily to encourage and recognise young cinematographers who like to experiment and be innovative.
- AFTRS Student Cinematographer
- The ACS is a co-sponsor of the annual AFTRS award for "High Achievement in Cinematography", which is presented at AFTRS Graduation.
